Primary School Tours

We invite you to consider coming to Bens Rockclimbing Clinic for this year’s school tour. We have designed healthy and fun day out which is age-appropriate, imaginative, and suitable for all levels of fitness and supervised by well trained and experienced staff.

We work with teachers and schools to provide the very best educational experience for kids and teens. We run many half and full courses for local schools. We pride ourselves on our care and attention to teachers and their classes. We are experienced with school groups, and provide all necessary insurance.

All activities are designed to improve personal self confidence, develop team building skills, allow all children to test and taste outdoor sports in a very safe and fun way. Our excellent staff run all the activities, we understand that some teachers love to join in on the fun- and some don’t – and that is fine with us!

Our program is developed for 4/5/6 th class age groups. We can provide rock climbing/ orienteering/ pioneering (make assorted items eg. benches with wood and rope) and bouldering (Low level climbing no ropes needed)

Sample tour: Arrive 10 am. (15) Climbing (15) Pioneering/Orienteering 11:30 Change Over

Finish at 1pm with pack lunch on tables built by students (we hope)

We base ourselves at Ballryan Crag, on the Fanore to Lisdoonvara coast road, a great location for the children to experience the Burren and the Irish coastline. It is also ideal if your tour wants to take in some other attractions in the area including Seaworld, Lahinch or Moher Farm.

Secondary Schools

Bens Rockclimbing clinic unlike other centres provides an opportunity to learn the basic rockclimbing skills but also develop them on to the next level. For this reason groups are kept small and coaching is progressive. We are small and therefore can give personal attention but also very good rates as we have few costs. Was well as providing rockclimbing and surf lessons for school groups we are also developing a team building personnel development program specifically aimed at transition years and first years students. Watch this space for further information.
